Holly Ellis

(Holly: front row center)

Since graduating, I have completed my first year at Chapman University studying Business Administration with a minor in Dance. I am a member of the sorority Kappa Alpha Theta at Chapman and choreograph for and participate in dance performances and competitions for Greek Life fundraisers. I currently work as an instructional dance staff member with the United Spirit Association. USA works with high school drum majors and cheer, spirit, and dance teams from states all over the west coast. As a staff member, I choreograph and teach dance teams at USA camps which are composed of many teams, and home camps of just one team. Throughout the year, I continue to work for USA as a Director’s Assistant at USA competitions and USA Nationals.

 Vanessa Fisher

(Vanessa: second row center, third from right )

I am currently attending Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, majoring in business and minoring in dance. I am also a member of the Gonzaga Bomb Squad which is a hip hop dance team that performs at men and women’s basketball games. In addition, I am the service project coordinator for the Dance for Parkinson’s program at Gonzaga . With this program, people in the Spokane area affected by Parkinson’s Disease come to our campus and we work with them once a week through dance. The movement really helps them to make moving around a little easier throughout their lives. Another position I have taken is the Social Chair for the academic dance program’s Dance Council. We really get to have a say in the way programs and different events are run in the dance program throughout the year. I never expected dance to still play such a large role in my life, but it has been such a great thing for me. In addition, this summer I am a USA dance instructor for summer camps along the west coast. These were the camps I used to attend with my dance team in high school and it is so cool that I now get to be an instructor for the company. I am so excited to see how dance continues to be a part of my life.

Katelyn Stewart

(Katelyn: far right )

After competing with IGNITE for four years, Katelyn graduated Mount Si High School in 2015 and currently attends Central Washington University. At CWU she is a part of the William Douglas Honors College. She is still undecided in her major but is looking into the possibilities of education or marketing. In addition to her schooling, Katelyn also plays a large role in the dance community at the university. She performed in two different shows during both winter and spring quarter with the CWU Orchesis Dance Company. Katelyn was also a member of the 2015-2016 CWU Dance Team. After one year of performing with the team, she was voted Co-Captain of the team for the 2016-2017 dance season. Katelyn is very excited to lead the CWU Dance Team through the next year and is very thankful for the experience and skills she gained at IGNITE that continually helps her accomplish these achievements.
