Our amazing facilities

IGNITE boasts almost 6,000 square feet of studio space, holding over 160 classes each week. It’s four classrooms each have vaulted ceilings, open space without pillars, and IGNITE’s own sprung floors. These five-layered floors are designed for less wear and tear on the body. IGNITE is also equipped with a children’s corner for babysitting, a study area for homework, viewing areas for parents, and a dressing room. Recreational Program

IGNITE’s recreational dance program offers classes for youth ages 3+ and adult students, in ballet/tap/tumble combo classes, ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, musical theatre, broadway jazz, acro (tumbling), and pointe. Classes are arranged by age and level. IGNITE allows students to take a FREE trial class to help determine which class is the best fit.


Competitive Program

June of each year IGNITE holds auditions for it’s elite group of dancers that make up the IGNITE Competition Team. Ages 4-19 compete in all styles of dance, representing the studio and community at local and National dance competitions. IGNITE’s team is known for outstanding, classy choreography, continuing to showcase fresh new choreographers who are incredibly passionate about what they teach. Technique is the foundation of all styles of dance, and is why Director Katie Black has hired a team of over-qualified ballet instructors. The commitment from dancers, parents, and instructors has made this program a great success. Students graduate with an incredible set of dance and life skills, and deep friendships that last forever. Ballet/Tap/Tumble (3 – 5 years)

Ballet/Tap/Tumble introduces young dancers to basic elements of ballet, tap, and tumble. The focus of this class is to memorize choreography, to learn dance vocabulary, and gain confidence in the dance studio!

Ballet (5+ years)

Ballet is the foundation for all other dance forms and is a necssity for every serious student of dance. In this class, the emphasis is proper body positioning and the development of correct muscle alignment. Students strive for grace, fluidity of movement, and discipline.

Creative Expression

Creative Expression is a dance class offered at IGNITE for teenagers to young adults who have special needs. Creative Expression will incorporate a combination of dance styles. All are welcome to this upbeat, high-energy class!

Hip Hop (5+ years)

Hip Hop is a form of dance that blends street dance and jazz in an upbeat and high energy style that has been popularized by music videos and concert stages. This class is a great way for a dancer to develop their sense of personal style and creativity.

Jazz (5+ years)

Jazz is a quick moving, technical dance form that infuses a “cool” aesthetic. This class will focus on flexibility, turns and leaps, stylized steps, and coordination, through center-floor work, across the floor progressions, and combinations.

Lyrical (7+ years)

Lyrical is a contemporary dance form that integrates the discipline of ballet, the freedom of jazz, and the creativity of modern dance. This class will focus on the use of personal emotion and storytelling through movement that plays with the use of articulation, line, weight, and movement qualities.

Musical Theatre (7+ years)

Musical Theatre offers a fun approach to theatre through imagination, improvisation, and presentation. This class will focus on teaching students stage presence, singing, acting, dancing, and theatre history.

Pointe (Permission required)

Pointe dancers perform ballet and pointe technique while wearing pointe shoes that supports all of a dancer’s body weight on the tips of fully extended feet. Extensive training and practice are required to develop the strength and technique needed for pointe work.

Stretch/Strength (Competition team only)

Stretch/Strength is a class that provides dancers tools to maintain proper dance facilities. This class will focus on conditioning, flexibility, proper alignment,  and injury prevention.

Tap (5+ years,  including Adults)

Tap is an American dance form in which the dancer creates exciting, dynamic rhythms with their feet. Instruction includes emphasis on musicality, clarity of tap sounds, proper technique, speed, and a variety of styles of steps.

Tumbling (5+ years)

Tumbling students will focus on developing tumbling and gymnastics skills in progression, while improving strength and flexibility through conditioning.

Dress Code
Dress code is in place to benefit the dancer. Instructors are able to give better corrections when students are in proper dance attire. Dancers without proper attire may be asked to observe class. Three instances of improper attire equals ONE absence. You should not change your dance attire between back to back classes. There is generally not enough time or space to do so. Dancers will need to dress accordingly to be prepared for all of their classes. If you do not have proper attire, the front-desk may have pieces you can borrow. PLEASE NOTE: Competition dance shoes will be decided by the end of September.

Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Stretch and Strength/ Conditioning, and Combo/Tech:
Girls- choice of tights, bike shorts, jazz pants, capris, form-fitting tank tops, sports bras, workout tops, or leotards. Hair should be pulled back in order to spot (messy bun) – no long ponytails. (unless specified by your teacher)
Boys- T-shirt, tank top, basketball shorts or leggings. No baggy pants.
Shoes- Jazz shoes, foot undies, or bare feet. Bare feet for Stretch and Strength.

Girls- Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Hair in bun.
Boys- Black form fitting shirt, black fitted shorts or leggings, black socks, and black ballet shoes.

Hip Hop: Loose clothing (no jeans) and dedicated clean sneakers/shoes.

Tap: Ankles must show, no baggy clothing, and black oxford tap shoes. (see tap shoe guidelines on team app) Hair pulled back.

Hair: If hair is not secured properly, instructor will ask student to leave the room to fix their hair before returning to class.
