Kristen Robinson grew up in Seattle, Washington as a competition dancer. She has trained in jazz, contemporary, modern, ballet, tap, musical theater and hip-hop. Growing up she performed with an ensemble group and became a soloist in 2008. She is a graduate of Chapman University with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts in Education. In college she performed in many choreographic works including pieces by her peers and as a featured dancer in the musical theater production, American Celebration. She was a member of Team Shaka, an elite hip-hop team that performed in Orange County and Los Angeles. She was also president of Chapman Dance Alliance and produced an annual show in 2012. She has choreographed numerous pieces for private studios as well as pieces performed in dance concerts at Chapman University. Her choreography has received awards such as “Judges Choice” and “Outstanding Choreography.” She was recently selected to set a piece in the Fuse Modern Dance collaboration show, “SYNTHESIS” based out of Orange County. Kristen has extensive teaching experience in the Seattle, Orange County, and Los Angeles areas. Since moving to Los Angeles she has performed with the LA Unbound company and became a founding member of the jazz funk company “House of Lace” under the artistic direction of Lacey Winkler and Flavia Schweizer. She has appeared in a National Zumba commercial and music video for upcoming hip hop artist, Janai Malee. She was a soloist in a Los Angeles based showcase, “The Dancespot” and a dancer in a short film titled, “Pivot.” She danced in the Rose Parade of 2014 with Hit the Floor Productions and Stella Rosa Winery. She most recently worked in a VMA promotion performance for the artist, “Fifth Harmony.” Kristen hopes to continue her professional dance career as a performer as well as share her love for dance through her choreography and teaching.
